Dr. Dominique Rogers to be Visiting Professor at IN THE SAME SEA
At IN THE SAME SEA we are proud to house as visiting professor Dr. Dominique Rogers, lecturer in modern history at Université des Antilles, Martinique, and at the Centre international de recherches de sur esclavages et post-esclavages, during October 2022. Dr. Rogers specializes in Caribbean social and cultural history, focusing in particular on urban history, women’s history and the history of free people of color.
During her stay, Dr. Rogers will give two public lectures. On October 11, she will talk about Slavery and memory in the public heritage sites and museums in Martinique (11 Oct. 2022, 16:00, South Campus, room 12-3-39). On October 27, she will join the Eighteenth-Century Seminar at SAXO to talk about 'White Women in the Ports of French Saint-Domingue: A Question to Rediscover' (27 Oct. 2022, 15:00, South Campus, room 12-3-39; register by emailing Professor Ulrik Langen).
