IN THE SAME SEA Postdoctoral Fellow Felicia Fricke has published a research article entitled "“It Is Only Bad Priests and Outlaws Who Thrive NowAdays”: The Catholic Church, the Colonial Authorities, and Elite Rumor Networks in the 1820s Lesser Antilles" in the open access journal New West Indian Guide. The article examines microregional rumour networks between elite men, who collaborated across religion, occupation, and nationality to attack a man who they thought threatened the colonial order: a young Catholic priest named Antony O'Hannan.
You can access the article here, and there is also a local press release in NOW Grenada.
